Hepatitis A is a liver disease caused by the hepatitis A virus. Hepatitis A is mainly transmitted by contaminated food and water, especially by eating shellfish and food without proper cooking. The adverse hygiene circumstances are the hotbeds of HAV, such as in China, East Asia, South America and partially Africa.

It usually leads to acute hepatitis. The symptoms are nausea and diarrhea, fever, and jaundice signs. If without appropriate care, it can worsen liver failure. People who have chronic liver disease, are even prone to death. At present, there is still no workable treatment for HAV but hepatitis A vaccination is effective in preventing the disease.

Injection schedule - After 1 year old, 2 doses at least 6 months apart.

If assessed as unfit for vaccination, a HKD $200 consultation fee applies, and the remaining amount will be refunded.
