Thank you for choosing Kinetics’ health check and vaccination services. To ensure a high-quality, accurate, and efficient experience, please read the following tips before your appointment or vaccination. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
Health Check Tips
- For general health check appointments such as blood tests, ECG, X-ray, urine and stool tests, please make your booking by phone at least 1 to 2 weeks in advance. If you wish to book for Saturdays or around public holidays, please make your booking at least 4 weeks in advance.
- Some examinations, such as ultrasound, exercise ECG, and MRI, must be performed by specialist doctors. Please book as early as possible so that we can arrange a suitable time for you.
- Some tests require fasting, such as blood glucose, cholesterol, Helicobacter pylori breath test, or abdominal ultrasound. Participants should fast for 8 hours before the examination and may drink only a moderate amount of water. Chewing gum, coffee, and tea are also not allowed.
- For urine tests, samples are generally collected at the clinic, and only half a cup of mid-stream urine is required.
- For stool tests, please prepare the sample within 24 hours before the examination using a clean container and provide a stool sample of about one fingertip size. The clinic can provide a stool sample container free of charge upon request. Please write your name on the container before submission, and make sure the stool does not come into contact with toilet water.
- For ultrasound or imaging examinations, please bring your previous films for the doctor’s reference.
- For exercise ECG tests, please bring sportswear and sports shoes, and avoid overeating before the examination.
- For pelvic/prostate ultrasound, the participant must have a full bladder before the examination, meaning you should feel the need to urinate.
- For ladies, urine tests, stool tests, annual gynaecological check-ups, thin-prep smear tests, and cervical discharge tests are generally not recommended from 3 days before the period until 7 days after the period ends.
- For mammography, it is best to have the test about one week after menstruation, when the breasts are softer and less swollen.
- For thin-prep smear tests, please arrange the examination 1 to 2 weeks after menstruation for a more accurate result. Please avoid vaginal douching and sexual intercourse on the day before the test.
- If you are pregnant or suspect that you may be pregnant, please do not undergo any X-ray examinations, including chest X-ray, mammography, and bone density X-ray, as well as annual gynaecological check-ups, thin-prep smear tests, and cervical discharge tests.
- For semen tests, men should avoid sexual intercourse for 3 days before the test. Samples are usually collected at the clinic. If the sample needs to be collected off-site, please avoid using condoms or any spermicide, and keep the sample as close to body temperature as possible during transport, for example in a pocket, to avoid damage caused by low temperature. The sample must reach the health check centre within 1 hour.
