常見Q&A
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is BlessGD the same as SafeT21 Advanced Panel? Can I just do one test?
A: No, they are not the same. BlessGD is designed to detect small single-gene mutations (1–3 bp), while SafeT21 focuses on large chromosomal abnormalities (>3 Mb). They cover very different conditions, so using both tests together provides a more complete screening result.
Q: When can the test be done? Is it safe?
A: The test can be performed from 10 weeks of pregnancy. It only requires a maternal blood sample, so there is no risk to the baby. The report is usually available in around 21 days.
Q: Why is single-gene disease screening important?
A: About 1 in 100 babies is affected by a single-gene disorder. Many cases are caused by de novo mutations, and risk can increase with advanced paternal age. Early detection allows parents to prepare earlier.
